designer tiles, hand made, new zealand

My love affair with ceramic tiles began while visiting the incredible temples and mosques of Asia.

At the heart of the Tessera collection is the method of pattern making known as tessellation.  Experiments with tessellation have fostered within this collection a fascination with illusion and chaotic patterning.  With repetition the pattern can be as regular or random as desired.

THESE TILES CONSIST OF SEPARATE MODULES THAT CAN BE REARRANGED, REPLACED OR INTERCHANGED EASILY.

This collection encapsulates the simple idea of using a single motif to create an unlimited number of patterns.  This formula allows the owner of these tiles to create their own personal and entirely original scheme.
